Maker with Rame Institute - "The Clock Tower" Kingsand

Maker with Rame Institute (The Clock Tower)

The iconic, Grade 2 listed, Maker with Rame Institute is at the very heart of the local communities of Cawsand and Kingsand. It is used extensively by locals and visitors and with its beautiful clock tower, is the most well-known building in our village and surrounding area. The foundation stone of the present Institute was laid on 22nd June 1911 which was the same day that the Queen’s grandfather, King George 5th, was crowned king.

The Institute can be easily booked for private functions and village groups, indeed it is the backbone of many events in the area. It is ideal as a small reception area for weddings and other celebrations, comfortably seating 50 people in the upstairs room which opens out onto the balcony with its magnificent uninterrupted sea views over Cawsand Bay.

The upper floor has kitchen facilities and a lift for full disabled access. There are also toilet facilities on the ground floor and the building has full and modern central heating. The Institute Snooker Club is now up and running. The full-sized table has been fully refurbished and re-covered following the storm damage it suffered in 2014.
