Situated in “Cornwall’s Forgotten Corner” the Hideaway shares the clifftop with Polhawn Fort with absolutely stunning views across Whitsand Bay to Looe Island and Gribben Head. There are many opportunities for walking, sailing, golf etc. nearby. We are just a five minute walk from Polhawn Fort if you are attending a Wedding there. We do not have WIFI but very good 4G coveragre if you need to keep in touch with the outside world.!
The Hideaway offers peace and seclusion for two people, ideal for anniversaries , birthdays and special occasions or to avoid the hustle and bustle of the local villages. It is a very special location for a romantic getaway. Kingsand and Cawsand are a five minute drive away and offer four pubs, two cafes and several small gift shops.
The Hideaway is an independent unit of accomodation annexed to Polhawn Cottage and located beween the cottage and Polhawn Fort It comprises of an open plan living space with fitted kitchen a dining and lounge area with comfy seating and Sky TV. The bedroom area is on a raised dais to optimise the fantastic sea views., there is nothing better than lying in bed watching the sea!
Outside is a decked area with table and chairs. The garden faces south west and we experience some incredible sunsets.
The Hideaway is well placed to visit the smuggling and fishing villages of Looe and Polperro. We are also only an hour away from the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project, two jewels in Cornwall’s crown. During the summer months a foot ferry runs from Cawsand beach to The Barbican steps in Plymouth where you will find 300 years of history to explore as well as a large shopping centre, theatre and cinema complex and many other attractions.
